Import from Chrome or Edge

Bring your bookmarks and history over.

Aetherium can bring over your bookmarks and history from Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Firefox.

Import bookmarks and history

  1. Close the other browser first (otherwise it keeps its files locked and you see Close Chrome and try again.).
  2. In Aetherium choose ⋮ › Import from another browser... (or Preferences › Import from another browser).
  3. Pick the browser under From and its Profile.
  4. Under What to import tick Bookmarks and/or Browsing history (choose Last 90 days or All history).
  5. Press Import. A summary shows what came over; press Done.
Good to know
Bookmark folders become tags, and bookmarks you already have are not doubled. Aetherium keeps history for six weeks, so very old history fades out.

Have a bookmarks .html export instead? Use the Bookmarks HTML file option in the same window and Choose HTML file....

Passwords

Aetherium never reads passwords out of another browser. Move them with a CSV export:

  1. In the import window, open Import passwords from a CSV file.... It shows how to export a CSV from each browser.
  2. Then import that file into the password manager you use:
    • Built-in password manager: open saved passwords (Ctrl+Shift+K ) › Import credentials.
    • VaultPass: on the VaultPass site, Settings › Import & export › Import CSV (the window has an Open VaultPass button).
  3. Delete the CSV file afterwards; it holds your passwords in plain text. Aetherium offers to Delete the CSV file for you.
